You might not have had the chance to see Dave in action, but many consider him one of the most exciting, energetic, and entertaining musicians on the current live music scene.
“In other parts of the world they have cyclones, tornados, and hurricanes, in the UK we have Stompin’ Dave. Dave is a phenomenal artist…A great guitar player, vocalist and an accomplished songwriter…he is also an outstanding dancer…” Blues In The South.
A prolific artist in the studio, Dave is a former member of former UK Blues Band of the Year The Producers. In 2024, Dave was also nominated for a UK Blues Award.
Dave has consistently given over one hundred performances per year across the UK and beyond, including many major festivals such as Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, and Bestival. “Let’s face it, in adding the quality of his original material the man is a downright genius” Blues In Britain.
With his songwriting Dave has engulfed himself in the masters of American roots music, remained true, but managed to produce “not…a sound of yesteryear that should be in a museum but real, modern and relevant that should be heard live” Blues Matters.
Joining Dave in this lineup is Lucy Piper on drums "one of the UK's leading Blues drummers" The Guardian.
In 2019 and 2020 Lucy worked with double Grammy Award winning label Ruf Records on their annual 'Blues Caravan'. She also appeared on Ryan Perry's album High Risk, Low Reward which was nominated for a Blues Music Award 2020, universally recognised as the highest award in blues music.
Lucy and Dave have been performing regularly together since 2022 with many appearances at various festivals and art centres across the UK. In that time they have released four albums together. "The sound is authentic, with a richness that's as good as any of the best blues albums." Blues In Britain.
“Great guitar work, fine singing and authentic lyrics and melodies.” Blues In The South.
“Here's two fabulous musicians delivering a record that deserves huge recognition, a modern blues album rooted nicely indeed in the traditions of the past.” Blues In Britain.
