KASPAR & LUCY
A collaboration between Kaspar Berry Rapkin & Lucy Piper sees two established musicians from the UK's Blues scene come together to play the upbeat Hill Country & Delta Blues from the land where they first met - Clarksdale, Mississippi. Dedicated to capturing the raw hypnotic energy you'd find in a traditional 'Juke Joint', both musicians are devoted to keeping this unique music alive, with an added fresh edge.
Hailing from St Albans and Exeter, Kaspar plays regularly on the London Blues circuit as well as at many of the leading UK's Blues Festivals, both solo and with his band 'The Swamp Dogs', whilst Lucy is well known on the scene for her role as a Blues session Drummer, and has played with the likes of Ben Waters, Mississippi Macdonald, and James Oliver, as well as many American Blues artists out in the Delta, such as Watermelon Slim and Robert Kimbrough Sr. Her late father was Blues Musician & Music journalist Julian Piper, who she also played with, in his band 'Junkyard Angels'.
Kaspar and Lucy believe that the genre deserves a larger audience and are determined to showcase its power, authenticity, and irresistible groove to new listeners and dedicated blues fans alike.
ANDY TWYMAN:
Andy Twyman's one man band act is a unique blend of deep blues with comedy and rock & roll. The result is a show packed with heart and humour. Andy has found a place as one of the most original acts on the circuit today. His distinct style has been heard and seen at Glastonbury Festival, on BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4.
Andy first took to the stage aged 12 in pubs and clubs, with his guitar, voice and harmonica, performing solo and jamming with local musicians including Rory Graham (aka Rag and Bone Man). Before hitting 18, he had gigged as a solo act in top London venues including The Jazz Café and 100 Club. Driven to create a distinctive and exciting act, Andy learnt to play foot operated drums, giving his songs a beat to get people on their feet. Drawing on influences as diverse as Muddy Waters and Monty Python he developed a one man band show.
